Day 4- Sea Day

At sea day. Always fun checking out all there is to do on the ship. Started out with a workout in the fitness center, then to the raffle for over $1,000 worth of prizes...no luck. Then my Mom, Julie, and I had 35 minutes to put together a 500 piece puzzle in hopes to beat 9'other teams. Sorry to say, we didn't finish in the top 3 :(. Then, off to Bingo where my Mom kept her winning streak alive winning the 1st game. After a light lunch, it was off to the champagne art auction, where they gave into temptation and purchased a Mickey Mouse etching for the bargain price (I think!) of $75.  Now, I am at afternoon tea. Afternoon tea is a wonderful treat...check out the pictures!

There go my carbs for the day! The wait staff serve with silver and white gloves. The tea is great...the scones amazing! I stumbled upon the afternoon tea during my 1st cruise, each cruise line has had one, all excellent. 

The sun has finally come out today. It is quite cool with about a 10-20 knot wind. 

Tomorrow we arrive in Juneau, the capital of Alaska. My cousin Sue and I are embarking on a 4.5 mile wildlife hike, Kevin, Julie, Erin, and Bryan are going on a helicopter and dog sled excursion.  I will see if I can upload some video from the GoPro Kevin will be using tomorrow.

Day 3 - on the ship

We started the cruise! The ship we are on is the Crown Princess which is the same, I think, as the other ones we have been on in the past. For some reason, we all seemed tired, perhaps we finally have noticed the time difference!

I wasn't thinking, I forgot to take pictures of our food, but the featured main was prime rib and of course plenty of seafood dishes. My favorite are the desserts, Erin got her favorite,mother soufflé, Bryan...vanilla ice cream (a big scoop as he puts it), my Dad ice cream (never met a flavor he doesn't like...some he likes better than others), Kevin, traditional cheesecake, Julie, the love boat dish, and I got the flourless chocolate cake with raspberry sauce (had to get my serving of fruit in for the day).

During dinner, the Captain came on the intercom to advise us that tonight was going to be a rocky one as will our 1st day at sea.

Motor City, the show in Princess Theater got Bryan moving and grooving! 

Then, we all turned in for the night. Heading to Juneau! Tomorrow will be a lazy day of relaxing, raffle drawings, trivia contests, and of course art auctions for Kevin!

And we are off!! Alaska here we come!

Day 2 Seattle

This morning we took a Duck Tour of Seattle, always a nice way to see the city.

After the Duck Tour,  and a stop for a picture with Star Wars characters, we took a monorail down to thenPike Place Public Market.  The monorail is supposedly the fastest in the world.  We walked down to the public market, wow, perhaps all,of Seattle was there! Didn't see any "flying fish", but anything you wanted they had. The fresh fruit looked delicious, too bad I don't like fruit!

Success, after lunch at a local pub, back to the market...flying fish! 2 out of 3 ain't bad, but not sure I would buy the fish that "hit the deck"!

Then a SIGHTING ...Sasquatch!  It does exist!

Tonight for dinner we went to Ivar's Salmon House. Kevin and Erin of course got the Copper River salmon, my mom got a pasta dish with salmon, my cousin Susie had ahi tuna, Julie and Bryan steak and my dad and I got fish and chips (hey, at least we tried fish!). Enjoy the pictures!

Day 1 Seattle

We flew out of Baltimore on time! Smooth flight, no issues. Throughout the flight we could see many sights,  lots of mountains, snow covered tops, crop acreage, and a beautiful view of Mt. Rainier (the most impressive sight).

Tonight we walked from the hotel to the Space Needle. The needle itself is 607+ feet. The needle was built to withstand a 9.0 earthquake and 100 mph winds, thankfully neither of which we needed to test! It was built from 1961-1962. Once again, beautiful views of the Pacific Northwest, including Mt.Rainier
